Obituary of Lynda M. Proctor

Lynda M. Proctor, age 59 of Halfmoon left our world in the blink of an eye on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at her home. She was predeceased by her father, James Herring. Lynda was a 1976 graduate of Shenendehowa High School, and she worked for the NYS Dept. of Transportation in the personnel department for 38 years. She met her soul mate Tom at the age of 14, married in September 1977, and have been inseparable ever since. Lynda loved to spoil people she cared for and was always going out of her way to get the right gifts. She loved bringing her granddaughter Alaina to Toys R Us and giving her all the junk food she wanted, because “that’s what Nana’s do” She always tried to look at the good in life and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Thomas Proctor, her daughter Judith (Brian) Fitch, and was a super Nana to her granddaughter Alaina Fitch. She is also survived by her mother, Lisa Herring (Richard) Smalley, brothers Michael (Diann) Herring, and Andrew (Debbie) Herring, her sister Loretta (Edward) White, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. All are welcome to attend a graveside service on Friday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at the Waterford Rural Cemetery.
