Peter P. Carlin, age 76 of Clifton Park passed away on Monday May 5, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 21, 1938 in Mineola, Long Island, the son of the late Paul and Josephine Carlin. Peter attended St. Patrick’s School in Huntington, NY and graduated from St. Dominick’s School in Oyster Bay, NY. He entered the Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy, and spent 4 years in the Coast Guard. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Edward’s Church and was a member of the color guard at the American Legion Post 1450 in Halfmoon. He retired after working many years at the Watervliet Arsenal. He is survived by his wife Barbara Carlin, daughters Allison Tallman, Mary Buffkin, Susan McMonagle, sons Michael, John, and Christopher Carlin, brother Gerard Carlin, sister Elizabeth Carlin, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral Mass Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Edward’s Church in Clifton Park. Interment will follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the John Birch Society by going to jbs.org.
