Obituary of Angeline Barranco

Angeline M. Barranco, age 85 of Clifton Park passed away at her home on Monday, March 5, 2018. Born in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Concetta Sapone. She was predeceased by her brothers Dominic, Paul, Tony, and Angelo Sapone.

After attending Wilbur Lynch High School in Amsterdam, she was employed by the Mohawk Dress Manufacturing Co. Following her marriage and move to Schenectady, she briefly worked at the Trustco bank and was a dedicated homemaker. Upon moving to Clifton Park she was employed by Shannon’s Rainbow Nursery and Daycare Center. She loved raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and especially loved her trip to Italy, where she was in the presence of Pope John Paul II.  Angie was very sociable and made friends easily wherever she went. She always put others before herself.

She is survived by her husband Joseph M. Barranco, Sr., daughters Anne (Dan) Madden, Joan (Todd) Britton, Kathleen (Mark) Occhigrosso, son Joseph M. Barranco, Jr, brother Frank Sapone and her sister Anne Sheckton. Her greatest and most treasured possessions were her grandchildren Brian and Kelly Madden, Lauren and Sam Occhiogrosso, and Rachel Britton.

The family would like to thank the volunteers at Care Links for getting her to her dialysis treatments, the staff at DCI Dialysis Center, Hospice, Right At Home and Ellis Hospital.

Calling hours will be held on April 28 from 9 to 11 am. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a memorial mass at 11:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Round Lake. She will be interred with her husband at the Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.
