Obituary of Randall J. "Randy" Parent

Randall “Randy” J. Parent, age 53 of Halfmoon passed away on Wednesday April 4, 2018. Born in Cohoes on December 10, 1964, he was the son of Theodore J. Parent, Sr., and the late Jennie Parent.

A lifelong resident of Halfmoon, Randy was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He spent his career as a dedicated employee of Marjam Supply in Albany for 25 years. He was a lover of music to the extreme, enjoying the drums, keyboard, the guitar, and attending concerts. He had a passion for animals and all things in nature. He loved biking, boating, the pool, the beach, the sunshine, and photography (mostly of his dog). He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved to make people laugh, especially when he put on his magic and puppet shows and made everyone feel comfortable; even comfortable enough to dance.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years; Sharon A. Parent, father Theodore J. Parent, Sr., brothers Theodore F. (Erin) Parent Jr., Gary E. Parent, sisters Nola Parent, and Connie (Paul) Nowakowski, father-in-law George Tokarz and mother-in-law Patricia Tokarz. He was the devoted uncle of Jennifer (Joseph) Dugan, Dennis (Jason Nastke) Brown, Shaun (Kristen) Parent, Jesse Parent, and Andrew Parent, and he was also survived by great-niece Olivia Dugan, great-nephews Brody Dugan and Cameron Parent, and his beloved dog Sadie

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral Mass on Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Crescent, 86 Church Hill Rd. in Halfmoon. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Waterford.
