Obituary of George J. Masterson

George J. Masterson, age 94 of Saratoga Springs passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Born in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late James and Clara Masterson. He was predeceased by his wife Marie L. Masterson, daughter Jane Masterson Hilstro, brother Clarence Masterson, and sister Mary Broderick.

 

George worked as the plant manager for Helikon Corp. Furniture Manufacturers in Norwich, CT and HOE Corp in Poughkeepsie. He was a life member of the West Clinton Fire Co. in Pleasant Plains. Upon his move to Mechanicville in 1987, he was a member of the Jonesville United Methodist Church.

 

He is survived by his daughters Nancy E. (David) Dibelius, and Lynn (Frank) Lagace, grandchildren Jason (Megan) Forget, and Gregory, Jeffrey, Steven, and Christin Dibelius, step-grandchildren Erik (Christine) Lagace, and Danielle Lagace- Milliken (Scott), great-grandsons Aiden and Connor Forget, sisters-in-law Carol and Gwen Cookingham, and several nieces and nephews.

 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 2nd at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Plains Cemetery in Staatsburg, NY, with a reception following at the West Clinton Fire House.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday August 4th at 1:30 p.m. in the activities rooms the Wesley Nursing Home in Saratoga.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Wesley Foundation, 131 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
