Karen M. Dromms, age 78 of Clifton Park passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 1, 2018 due to complications from a stroke. Born on May 18, 1940 at home in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Camilla Johansen. She was predeceased by her son Paul Dromms, brothers Warren and Eugene Johansen, and her sister Ruth Quackenbush.

 

Karen retired from the Shenendehowa Central School District where she served as the secretary to the principal at Karigon Elementary. She enjoyed crafting, card making, scrapbooking, quilting, and embroidery and sewing.

 

She is survived by her husband of 54 years; Henry “Hank” Dromms, daughter Cynthia Lehan, granddaughter Kathryn Lehan, sister Lois Kilhurn, brother Christian Johansen, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her “best friends”, her cats Milo and Maize.

 

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9 in Clifton Park, with a funeral service on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Clifton Park. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4 Northcrest Dr, Clifton Park, NY 12065, or to the Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
