Obituary of Harriet R. Desso

Harriet R. Desso, age 90 of Cohoes passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Rosewood Rehab and Nursing Facility East Greenbush.  Born on September 3, 1928 in Colchester, VT, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Martin (Boucher). She was predeceased by her husband Everett E. Desso and daughter Darlene “Dolly” Desso.

 

Harriet was an employee of the Geier & Bluhm Inc. in Troy and retired from there after 27 years as a laborer making levels.  She enjoyed playing bingo and rummikub, reading, and word-search puzzles. She was a social butterfly and Queen of activates at Ogden Mills, Cohoes NY where she resided for over 19 years She belonged to the Cohoes Senior Center in Cohoes NY.  She has been a member of the Cornerstone Community Church of Lansingburgh for over 50 years.

 

She is survived by her niece Susan (Ed) Allen of Guilderland, son Edward (Cathy) Desso of Cohoes, and her sister Louella (Myron) Stover of Crawfordville, GA, grandsons: Heath (Jill), Anthony (Elsa), Nicholas (Brittney); Several great-grandchildren, and many other nieces and nephews.

 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral service beginning at 6:30.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of NENY, 950 New Loudon Rd Latham, NY 12110.
