Obituary of Rosalind Buck

Please share a memory of Rosalind to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rosalind M. Buck, 93, of Clifton Park, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2018, surrounded by her family. Rosie and her “best friend” and twin, Betty, were born on May 27, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Franz and Goldie Rodgers and was raised and educated in Little Falls, NY. Rosie resided in Herkimer for more than thirty years with her last residence being Clifton Park, NY.

For many years, she worked in dress manufacturing companies in the Herkimer area, ending that career at Harmony Mills, Cohoes, NY. Not one to slow down, she continued to work part-time in the bakery at the Clifton Park Price Chopper until she was in her 80s.

Rosie had many nicknames that described her character. The family affectionately knew her and her twin as “the hurricanes”. To family members she was also known as “Ma”. But, the nickname she was most proud of was Gran’ma Rose. Her grandchildren along with many other children and adults called her that. She was a kind soul who would take in and give help to anyone who needed it. People were drawn to her and we would often find extra guests at our dinner table.

Rosie had many interests including vacationing in Florida, country line dancing and especially spending time with family and friends. She will fondly be remembered for her enthusiasm, happiness and love she brought to every family event.

She is survived by her son Richard G. Buck and his wife, Carolyn, daughters, Paula Donovan, Sherri B. Walczak and husband, John, and Donna Wiseman and husband, Joey, daughter-in-law Joann Buck,15 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and her nephews, George DiCamillo and Dennis DiCamillo and his wife Julie. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald F. Buck, her beloved son, Lee A. Buck, our special angel, granddaughter Jamie Wiseman Mormile, and her sisters Kay Labenski and Betty DiCamillo, and a special friend John Salkis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family in the spring. At that time, Rosie will be interred, next to her husband, Gerald.

Rosie loved animals as much as she loved people. Donations in her memory may be made to the animal shelter/ pet food pantry of your choice.
