Obituary of Michael S. Jordan

Michael S Jordan died peacefully Saturday Morning February 23, 2019 following a courageous, yearlong battle against several medical challenges. His beloved wife, family, and dear friends were by his side.

Michael was born on January 23, 1959 in Endicott, NY. He grew up in Ithaca NY where attended Ithaca High School and graduated from Ithaca College in 1981. He was an avid student athlete, participating in both track and football while in High School.  Michael, along with his brothers Rick and Norm, was a member of the Ithaca College 1979 NCAA Division III Football Championship Team led by Coach James Butterfield. The teamwas inducted into the Ithaca College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. He remained a loyal Bomber fan, rarely missing Cortaca. Professionally, Michael has been a member of the Tri-Dim Filter Corporation since the early 1980’s, and founded Cayuga Tech Sales located in Clifton Park. Tri-Dim will mourn the loss of Mike’s friendship and will always honor their longstanding business relationship. Michael had made Clifton Park his home for the past 30 years. He took great pride in caring for his yard and veggie garden and spending time with those he loved. He was a loyal fan, and enthusiastically cheered onhis favorite local, college, professional teams. He spent many summers at the Saratoga Race Course, and many winters picking out the tallestChristmas tree he could find.

Michael was predeceased by his father, Norman R Jordan Sr., brother, Norm Jordan Jr., and adored uncles and aunts. He is survived by his wife, Paula (Rhoney) Jordan, his mother, Dorothy (Douglas) Jordan, sister, Cindee (Jordan) Sladich (Bob), brothers, Rick Jordan (Karen), and Pat Jordan (Debbie), sister in law Allison Jordan. He is also survived by his father and mother in law, Paul and Pat Rhoney, brothers and sisters in law,Ann Rhoney, Mark Rhoney (Nancy), Claire Gertz (Glen), and Colette Rhoney (John Sammis).  He leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

His wife and family would like to thank the medical staff at Albany Medical Center (especially ICU-B2, C-4, D-4, Brian Valerian MD, JodyScardillo DNP), NYOH (David Shaffer MD, Justin Juliano MD, and the radiology dept. at CP), VN Eric Smith RN, and Trainer Nick Elia RN, for their guidance, care, and unwavering support throughout Michael's treatment.
