The first memory I have of a wedding was Frank and Jean's when I was seven years old. It seems I only saw them a few more times in the following years and then I moved away from New York after high school, never to return. Even so, that day has always stayed with me.
Jean was so beautiful, luminous really, in her white dress and veil, the sun shining on her face as they ran from the church to the car. Frank was a larger than life figure to us kids. We could always count on him to toss us over the furniture and across the lawn, but that day he was so nervous that even a seven year old could sense something just a little off. Later, I remember them laughing and laughing. The party was fabulous and the cousins of that era ran wild the entire reception. It was such a defining childhood experience!
I hope their life together was a reflection of the joy and promise of that beautiful day, that the many years since were kind to them both and that all the children and grand children who arrived in their turn had the opportunity to experience the special beauty that began that long ago summer afternoon.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your mom Jean. We always enjoyed seeing her and Frank at the family reunions and in Saratoga. We regret we will not be here for the funeral but will be in Myrtle Beach. You are all in our thoughts.

Aunt Jean was the first to welcome me to the family, first with home cooked meals and then my bridal shower. She was a very kind and special woman. I hope her children are comforted by the memories they share.

My Aunt Jean was a very special person in my life. We shared our love of children and teaching, sewing, shared the same birthday month, and generally loved to be with each other. Since I am the oldest of 32 first cousins, I always considered my Aunts more like my older sisters. I could go to Jean for advice and she and I could relate on many levels. I used to love to visit her and even though she had 8 kids of her own she always made me feel special. I will miss her deeply!
Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease and it saddens me that she developed this disease that her sweet Mother also had. I’m going to donate to this cause in Jean’s memory and I sincerely hope there is a cure for this disease in my lifetime.
To my Skelly cousins.....please know that I am thinking of every one of you at this time. Your Mom was so proud of all of you and sang your praises every time we talked! I know your hearts are hurting at this time but remember that your Mom lived a long life and was able to share in so many of your accomplishments and successes, as well as those of your children.
She is at peace now and with your Dad in heaven. Hopefully, she has encountered her other family members that have passed on before her.
I love you all and I also loved your Mom so much. I will miss her and I’m sure she will be in my thoughts and prayers frequently. Love, Anne
