Helene M. Michalik, age 83 of Clifton Park passed away on Friday July 18, 2014 at Ellis Hospital. Born on June 8, 1931 in Kulpmount, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Dembosky. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Michalik, brother Ron Dembosky, and grandson Matthew Curley.
Helene spent most of her life in New Jersey, and worked various retail jobs there. She loved to sing and was a member of the St. Matthew’s Church Choir in Edison, NJ. She was an active member of the Shenendehowa Senior Center and attended daily Mass at Corpus Christi Church in Round Lake. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters Mary (Robert) Curley, Sherri Horn, and Michele (Stephen) Farrell, and sister Jocelyn Fitzpatrick. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brian, Brandon, Kelly, Garret, Ashley, Kaylee, great-grandson Benjamin, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral Mass Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Round Lake. Burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ at 2 p.m.
