Obituary of Roger N Travis

Roger Travis, age 83, of Clifton Park passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on September 8 at Ellis Hospital. He was the son of the late Charles and Lillian Travis. He is predeceased by his loving wife: Marjorie Travis. They were married for 54 years and shared the home that he built with his own hands for over 45 years. He graduated from Burnt Hills High school in 1949. He was an avid baseball fan and played for the Clifton Park Indians. He was scouted by a professional baseball team, but decided to serve his country and joined the Marines where he earned the rank of Sergeant. He was a carpenter for Teledine Gurley in Troy for over 30 years making precision wood equipment. He is survived by his son Roger (Anita) Travis Jr. and daughter Marjorie J. Mazur. He is also survived by his brother: Charles Travis Jr, grandchildren Travis, Connor, and Spencer Mazur and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 11 from 10 to 11:30 am, with a service at 11:30 am at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc. 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park. Burial will take place following the service at Clifton Park Village Cemetery.
