Obituary of Gregory A. Truesdale

Please share a memory of Gregory to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With deepest sadness the family of Gregory Alan Truesdale announces his peaceful passing, surrounded by his loving family on March 1, 2021, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, at the age of 52, following a brief illness. He was born on October 27, 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii to parents Neal Truesdale and Susanne Poulette. In addition to his parents, he is survived by sister, Susanne Truesdale; brother, Garth M. Truesdale; sister-in-law Lynn Truesdale; nephew, Garth R, Truesdale; and beloved cat, King. Greg is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many good friends. Greg was a 1987 graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School; held a BA degree in Communications from SUNY Brockport, and worked for many years at Verizon, most recently as a Fios technician. Greg played rugby in college and for the Albany Knickerbockers for several years. He was an avid fan of the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team, the NY Yankees and NY Giants. Greg had a special affinity and concern for animals and birds, often photographing bird visitors. Greg has left us all too soon, and will be dearly missed for his vivacious presence, playful smile, lively wit, boundless energy, and persistent willingness to help others. Greg’s family sends sincere thanks to the nurses, doctors, and staff of the Samaritan Hospital ICU for their kind and compassionate care. Those who wish to remember Greg’s life are encouraged to do so by reaching and spreading kindness to others. If desired, memorials donations can be made to any favorite charities in Greg’s name. Services and celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
