Jane E. Downing, age 91 of Waterford passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2021. Born on March 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Druschen. She was predeceased by her husband Harry J. Downing, her brother John Druschen and her sister A. Dorothy Keefe. Following her high school graduation, she went to work as a secretary for Recordak in Manhattan for 10 years. Jane and her husband then decided to start a family and raised their two daughters. She re-entered the work force as a secretary in the insurance industry in Yorktown Heights before her retirement. She enjoyed singing in her church choir, loved to garden, and was an accomplished seamstress. She is survived by her daughters Jennifer (Denis) Youmans, Karen (Ken) Keely, her brother Howard Druschen, and her grandchildren Jacob and Shannon Youmans and Grace and Lee Keely. She was a beloved aunt and friend to many. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 15th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, in Clifton Park., with a funeral service on Wednesday at 11 a.m at the funeral home. Interment will be in Amawalk Hill Cemetery in Yorktown Heights on Friday at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, 971 Route 146, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
