Anthony “Tony” Mangino, age 79, of Halfmoon, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Friday, November 7, 2014 in Ellis Hospital. He was the son of the late Albert and Adeline Mangino. He is also predeceased by his wife Laura Mangino and his brother Albert Mangino. Born in Schenectady, he graduated from Nott Terrace High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy serving on the aircraft carrier USS Randolf. After the Navy, he worked in the automobile business with his uncle Al. He then owned and operated the Saratoga Lake Marina for many years. Prior to his retirement to Venice Florida, he worked for his brother Ralph in the automobile business. He loved golfing, boating, snowmobiling, cars and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter, Adele (Michael) Compton, son, Anthony (Judy) Mangino, sister, Marlene (Tom) McKinney, brothers, Ralph and Richard (Pauline) Mangino, grandchildren, Nicholas, A.J. Marlee and Angela. He is also survived by his sister in law, Elaine Oliva, several nieces and nephews and his dog and companion, Mikey. Tony’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Rubin Dialysis Center of Clifton Park for their kindness and care. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Ballston Spa on Wednesday at 10 am, with burial taking place following the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ballston Spa. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Tony’s memory to the Rubin Dialysis Center: RubinDialysis.org/about-us/donate.
