Obituary of Ruth J. Milczarek

Ruth Milczarek of Round Lake, NY died peacefully on December 1, 2021, at the age of 89.Ruth retired from the New York State Education Department after 35 years of service. Upon retirement she took on the role of church secretary at RLUMC.  Her numerous hobbies and interests included vegetable and flower gardening; cooking, baking, and canning her signature recipes; creating quilted, sewn, knitted, and crocheted works of art; and maintaining an impressive physical fitness routine of running/walking, dance, yoga, and strength training. She made friends easily, and touched lives through her involvement in her career, volunteer work and hobbies. Ruth was the beautiful, strong, independent matriarch of the Milczarek family.

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, John; and siblings, Jim and Diane. She is survived by her son, John and his wife, Marian; grandchildren Christopher and Stephanie; siblings Bill, Jeanette, Betty, Joan and Rita; many nieces and nephews; and three cats, Mittens, Calvin, and Ms. Tommy.

On Saturday, December 11, a calling hour will be held at the Round Lake United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Masks and social distancing will be required within the church; We welcome you to share your condolences, but please refrain from hugs and handshakes due to the current health landscape.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Round Lake United Methodist Church or the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.
