Obituary of Jean Marie Bruhns

Jean Marie Bruhns, age 86 of Clifton Park passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 with her family by her side. Born on June 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna McNeely. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years; David Bruhns Sr. and her sister Patricia Gommel.

Jean born in Philadelphia and moved to Clifton Park in 1968 and is an original resident in the Clifton Knolls neighborhood.  She was the co-founder and CFO of Thermal Environment Sales of Halfmoon and was a founding board member of Miss Softball America, a longtime member of Quilt North, and one of the original members of St. Edward the Confessor Church.  Jean enjoyed skiing at her second home on the Bolton Valley Ski Resort in VT, relaxing with family and friends at the Barney Road Pool and hosting bridge night at her home and enjoying time spend with friends at the Edison Club. 

She is survived by her children David (Patricia) Bruhns, Jr., Jeanne (Carl) Hebert, Erik (Jennifer) Bruhns, and Heidi (Brian) Cavert, her beloved grandchildren  who referred to her as their “Mom Mom” Matthew (Erin), Timothy (Marisa), Erika (Ryan), Andrew (Glenna), Adam (Christine), Ben, Cameron, Alexander, Dylan L. (Lacey), Dylan R., Morgan (Owen), Evan, Ethan (Emily), Dustin (Brianna), Paige, Meredith, Ely, and Stella, and her great-grandchildren Hannah, Riley, Thomas, Elsie, Colin, Ramona, Kayley, and Rose.  A special thanks goes out to Tina Garcia and her team of home health aides to include Ammera and Sarah. 

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
