Obituary of Leo C. Rybaltowski

Leo C. Rybaltowski, age 96 of Halfmoon passed away peacefully on December 17, 2022. Born on March 17, 1926, in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Vincent and Mary Rybaltowski. He was predeceased by his brothers Edmund and Alphonse Rybaltowski.

Leo proudly served in US Army in Korea, and spent his career as a carpenter, working at G.F. Wertime and at the Saratoga Race Course. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, garden, and do woodworking. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1450 in Halfmoon for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years; Elizabeth Rybaltowski, daughter Lynn (Tim) Masley, son Mark (Cynthia) Rybaltowski, grandsons Benjamin and William Rybaltowski, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral service Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be St. Michael’s Cemetery in Waterford. Wearing of masks is encouraged.

The family would like to thank their friends George Beyer and Albert Bunk for their many visits and to the staff of the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes and the Community Hospice for all the wonderful care they provided.
