Josephine Mackey Obituary

Josephine Mackey, age 103, of Clifton Park, passed away on Sunday, December 14 at Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home in Clifton Park. She was born September 17, 1911, the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosalie DeLorenzo. She was predeceased by her husband Claude B. Mackey, brothers Joseph, Anthony and "Sonny" DeLorenzo, and great grandson, Jimmy Chalachan.


Josephine graduated from Girls Commercial High School in 1928 and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper most of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Crescent. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, knitting and needlework. She was a good homemaker and excellent cook and baker.


She is survived by her daughters, Claudia (Paul) Bylenok of Clifton Park and Rene (Bob) Chalachan of Binghamton, along with a brother, William (Helen) DeLorenzo, and five grandchildren, Deborah (Jim) Freis, Gregory Bylenok, Michelle (Phil) Meick, Robert Chalachan Jr., and Thomas (Melanie) Chalachan. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Jeremy Chalachan, Andrew Chalachan, Avarie Cate Chalachan, Josephine Freis and Xavier Freis, and numerous nieces and nephews.


Calling hours will be private with a service to be held at the convenience of the family.
