Obituary of Daniel F. Uber Sr.

Daniel F. Uber Sr., age 68 of Halfmoon passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2023 surrounded by his family. Born July 24th 1954, he was the son of Katherine “Betty” Colvin and the late Lester Colvin. He was predeceased by his brother William Uber and his sister Debra Uber.

           

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Debbie Uber, daughter Danette Chillemi, son Daniel (Amy) Uber Jr, his grandson Daniel (Bethany) Uber, sisters Sandra (Bill) Callahan and Shari (Mark) Colvin-Daignault, his brothers, David (Nancy) Uber, Randy (Pati) Uber, and his sister-in-law Vickie Uber as well as Mark and Michelle Frost. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

 

Dan worked as a school bus aide and monitor for children with special needs for 15 years with Shenendehowa Central School District. His other occupations included working as a security guard for Samaritan Hospital for 15 years and was a part time body man for Lussier’s Auto body as well during that time.

 

Dan was an avid car enthusiast and extremely talented mechanic/auto body technician. Which is something he later passed down to his son and grandson, the three working together on projects was more than a common occurrence. When he wasn’t turning a wrench he was at the track to see the cars in action. He was a cinema fanatic, for both the large and small screen with a library spanning every decade and genre. His favorite of which was Perry Mason and early animation like The Jetsons and The Flintstones. He also has a very vast stamp and coin collection.

 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 28th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc.1597 Route 9, Clifton Park NY 12065.

 

In Daniel’s memory, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
