Karen Renee Chaplin, 55, RN, BSN passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 12th from an extended illness that she battled for several years. She was born November 23, 1967 in Dayton, Ohio to Richard C. and Louise E. (Makiney) Chaplin.

She continued her nursing career at Eddy Heritage House in Troy, NY before having to stop work completely for medical reasons.

Karen enjoyed gardening, reading, electronic gaming, various crafts, and spending time with her family, especially her niece, Joely, who always called her “H’auntie”. She loved many feline pets over the years, and will be missed by her current cat, Frita, who warmed her lap many times over the past few years.

She is survived by her husband and companion of 35 years, Gregory D. Knox, and her mother, Louise, as well as her sisters Monica (Edward Morrison) Chaplin, and Suzanne Chaplin Koch, and her beloved niece Joely Morrison.
