I consider myself lucky to have met Richard as his high school student at West Allegheny. Unbeknownst to me he served America as a soldier, always. He was both kind and gracious, and always had kind words to share for everybody. If it weren't for his positive attitude I wouldn't be here today.
Until we meet again.

Dick & I were colleagues a long time ago at MHS. But, we became more than that. He took me under his wing as I did some observations in his English class and "taught me the ropes" on the way to becoming a teacher. He handed me the reins as he moved on to become an administrator and my first assignment was in his room, 110. He was my mentor and my friend, as he was to so many others in our school. I last saw Dick a few months ago, after a long absence. I consider myself lucky to have reconnected with my old friend, if only briefly. I'll miss him. (I have a woodwork Santa that he gifted me with at one of my holiday parties and whenever I see that, I will think of our wonderful memories together.)

Mr. Moran was my elementary school principal. I only have fond memories of my interactions with him. He was always kind and smiling, greeting us as we passed. May he rest in glory.

I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to Mr. Moran’s family and loved ones. Mr. Moran was my eighth and ninth grade English teacher. I later knew him as my children’s school principal. We learned so much about how to be good human beings from the way he lived his life. He was always kind, compassionate, and caring. He treated his pupils as individuals. I later knew him while I did teaching under his leadership. I experienced and appreciated his honesty and dedication to teachers and students alike. He later encouraged me to further my education in the field of literacy and was supportive while I did so. This allowed me to help many children and adults attain proficiency in reading. Mr. Moran was that teacher who helped me become the person I am today. I am blessed that he was a part of my life and I am forever thankful that he was my teacher.

To those who knew my dad well, knew he was a humble and gentle soul. Never one to brag. He loved his hobbies: wood carving, fish tanks and plants. He was also a big Neil Diamond fan. Many memories of him listening to Neil Diamond in the car and at home. If you want to remember him, sit in a quiet room and listen to a Neil Diamond song. We will miss you dad more than you know. Goodbye is not forever. Goodbye is not the end. It simply means I'll miss you until we meet again.
