Obituary of Shirley P. Leahy

Shirley P. Leahy, age 84 of Halfmoon passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Ellis Hospital. Born on December 23, 1938 in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lydia (Uzzo) DeRusso.

Shirley owned and operated Leahy’s Breakfast & Lunch on Broadway in Troy, which she ran for 20 years before retiring.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Joseph Vincent Leahy, Jr., loving daughter Kelly Leahy Catricala, adored Son-In-Law Eric, cherished grandson Kaleb Catricala and his wife Sierra. Her sisters Elizabeth Ackerman, and Joan Bottillo, her Brother-In Law James Leahy and his wife Debbie, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were private. Her body was laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Watervliet.
