Obituary of Mary Lou Guilbeault

Mary Lou Guilbeault, 76, of Halfmoon, passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on June 18, 2023. Mary Lou was born on March 10, 1947 in West Exeter, NY, the only daughter of the late Frank H. DeTraglia and Losetta (Hume) DeTraglia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward, her three brothers: Frank DeTraglia Jr., Robert DeTraglia and Fay DeTraglia.

Mary Lou was a woman of God, who enjoyed being a Sunday school teacher. She was a devoted stay at home wife to her beloved husband, the late Edward Guilbeault, of 41 years. Mary Lou opened not only her home, but heart to hundreds of children as a foster parent. Spending time with her family was her favorite thing most of all. Mary Lou had an everlasting mark on those who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved children, Patricia Guilbeault of Cohoes, Nicholas Guilbeault and Joshua McDonald of Halfmoon, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Matthew (Amber) Nadareski, their two sons Jason and Elliot of Buffalo, Amanda (Brandon) Brooks, their three children, Shane, Noel and Lainie of Halfmoon, Joseph (Samantha) Fagan III, their son Joseph of Halfmoon, Justin (Rachael) Fagan, their daughter Thea of Mechanicville, Brianna (Tyler) Fagan, their two daughters Tegan and Ella of Melrose, and Carter McDonald of Arlington, VT, her beloved sister-in-law Dorothy (Dottie) Guilbeault, brother-in-law Richard (Ricky) Guilbeault, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday June 21, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a service at 12 p.m., at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park. Burial will follow in Waterford Rural Cemetery.
