Charles Michael Cronin, Sr. (Chuck/Charlie) passed away on November 24 th, at the Home of
the Good Shepherd, in Saratoga Springs, NY. He was born in Albany, on June 26 th, 1935, the
son of John and Marie Jandreau Cronin.
Chuck graduated from CBA in Albany, joined the Marine Corps reserves, and married his
high school sweetheart Louise Cronin (Mickey). He was employed by New York Telephone
Co./Verizon for 42 years. He was especially proud of two accomplishments: leading all
communications for the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics and building his passive solar
home in Altamont, NY. He loved baseball, working on home and remodeling projects with
his children, the Adirondacks, the great outdoors, and his family. Charles and Mickey
enjoyed many travel adventures, not only seeing the far corners of the US in their mobile
home, but also traveled internationally.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Mickey; his children: Charles Jr. (Chuck), Steve, Kevin,
Timothy, and Suzanne; six grandchildren: Kimberly, Molly, Michael, Sheamus, Nick and
Weronika and four great grandchildren: AJ, Sophie, Levon, and Hadley, and many nieces
and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his older brother John Cronin, his younger
brother Joseph Cronin, and his grandson Hunter Cronin.
The family would like to sincerely thank the caring and compassionate teams from the
Home of Good Shepherd, Hospice, and physical therapists (Stacy, Brian and Mike) for all of
their support through some tough times – you are all greatly appreciated!
A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11:00 at St. Edward the
Confessor Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
