Thomas M. Castner, age 67, of Burnt Hills, passed away on February 15, 2015 at Hudson Park Nursing and Rehab. Born May 30, 1947, he was the son of the late Lorraine and Thomas L. Castner. Previously living in Scotia and Clifton Park, he graduated with a BS from Utica College of Syracuse University. He was an Auditor for NYS Comptrollers Offfice for 30 years. He was a past Grand Prytanis (President) of Tau Kappa Epsilon and was the business manager of the Shenendehowa Adult Community Center for 15 years. He also served 22 years as a certified baseball umpire in the Capital District. He is survived by his cousins, Jack Killion, Pat Kloepper and John Callahan and many special friends. Calling hours will be held at Catricala Funeral Home Inc. 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, on Saturday from 9 to 11 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 23 Crumitie Road in Loudonville at 12 noon. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the education scholarship in Thomas’ name. Send to the TKE Educational Foundation, Attn: Thomas M.
