Joseph Anthony Ballone, 77, a resident of Clifton Park, NY and formerly of Colonie & Schenectady died Saturday, January 27, 2024 surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was born June 21, 1946 to the late Anthony and Rose DeCrescenzo Ballone. He proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam 1968-69 as a switchboard operator. After his return, he was a punch press operator in the Gas Turbine division of General Electric in Schenectady, NY for over 30 years. He was a dedicated Yankees, Giants, Elvis and Young & the Restless fan. He enjoyed bowling, a well-manicured lawn and was an avid movie goer. He had previously served as an usher at St. Clare's Church in Colonie for many years. He was a loyal friend, a funny jokester and maintained a heart of complete goodness. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Sikorski Ballone of Clifton Park, NY; daughters Lisa (Ron) Mnieckowski of Clifton Park, and Lori Ballone of Syracuse, NY; sister Addie Napolitano and niece Michelle Napolitano, both of Schenectady, NY; grandchildren Ella, Ethan, Max, Aaron, Luke and grandnephew Noah; and many, many first cousins. Family and friends are invited an may call at St. Edward the Confessor Church on Thursday February 1,2024 from 5-7pm. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday February 2, 2024 at 11:30am at the Church. Burial to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery. The family would like to thank Community Hospice of Saratoga for their care over the last year. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
