Michael A. Blinstrub age 71 of Halfmoon, NY. Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday January 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cambridge, NY Michael was the son of the late Walter and Joyce Blinstrub he was also predeceased by stepmother Eva Blinstrub, step sister Sharon Davendonis and step brothers Frank and Peter Melesky. He was a graduate (1970) of St. Mary's Academy, Hoosick Falls, NY and Villanova University (1974) receiving a degree in Business Administration with a major in Accountancy. He was employed by the NYS Department of Health from 1975 to 2010. After retirement from NYS, he worked as a health care consultant for Loeb and Troper/ BKD Accountants and Advisors of New York City and entered full retirement in January 2019. He is survived by his wife Donna Jean and his children Marci (Joseph) Augustine, Sara (James) Perkins, Aaron (Susan) Blinstrub and their mother Mardi Niles, and stepchildren Amy and Josh Arnold. His is also survived by his stepbrother Robert (Elise) Melesky and a brother in-law Ralph Davendonis. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Michael was a loving "Grampy "to Nathaniel, Samuel, Nicholas, and Thomas Perkins, Joseph, Sophie and Mia Augustine and Ava Willingham. He held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren as well as his grandmother Sophie Blinstrub and aunt Sally Blinstrub. Michael was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He was a rock to those who loved him, always there to lend an ear, a hand, or his dry sense of humor when the occasion called for it. There was no one with a bigger heart. Michael enjoyed many sports in his developmental years and was a devoted member of the Nova Nation. He was most proud of Villanova's National Basketball Championships and often traveled to watch them play. He developed a passion for golf and rarely passed up an opportunity to join his friends in a spirited game of golf. His passion for golf was only exceeded by his love of family and his closest friends. There will be no funeral services, however a joyful celebration of Michael's life will be held at The Vista in Clifton Park, on March 1, 2024 from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (https://givenow.lls.org), and that those inclined, may honor Michael's memory by donating blood to local blood banks.
