Barbara J. (Sitler) Usifer, age 72, of Halfmoon, NY passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday January 29,2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Born In Manhattan, NY, Barbara was the daughter of the late John and Jacquelin (Bossemann) Sitler of Seaford, NY.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Peter J. Usifer as well as three children: Lori and her husband John Shedd, Kyle and Tanya Usifer, and Teri Fitzpatrick. She is also survived by three brothers: John, David and Steven Sitler. She was predeceased by her brothers, Matthew and William Sitler.

Barbara worked as a registered nurse at Vasser Brothers Hospital for many years. As a believer in life-long leaning, she furthered her education at Mount Saint Mary's College, where she earned a degree as a Nurse Practitioner. She practiced nursing up and down the east coast and in the Capital District area. She also taught Nursing for several years at BOCES in Dutchess County NY.

Barbara was a dedicated wife and mother; she loved spending time with family and friends. Barbara became expert at crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed Interior decorating and design.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours at the Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Rt 9, Halfmoon, NY on Friday February 2, 2024 from 5-8pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday February 3, 2024 at 10am at St. Edwards Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Waterford, NY.
