It was always fun to answer the phone when Ken called. Our conversations would begin with travel plans, then we'd wind up discussing our families, the weather and anything in between. He helped us complete our bucket list, offering invaluable advice, ideas, insight and suggestions. We will miss him for those reasons and more, but mostly for his friendship. His memory will always make us smile, Nancy & Lee

Grandpa Ken was one of the most loving, funny, and caring people i have met although I didn’t see him much he was still so amazing to my sister and I. I was so sad when I heard the news because i didn’t get to say goodbye and it really hurt. Then I thought about him more and more and I was thinking of the many memories we shared together. I will always cherish them in my heart forever. I’ll always remember the time he started dancing with a random waitress at Bahamas breeze and the times we would sit by the pool and talk. He was so funny you could never be serious around him, always cracking witty jokes and I miss it a lot and I will forever remember it. I believe he’s in a better place now and he will watch over all of us. I’m so grateful to have such an amazing grandpa like him I love you grandpa Ken I hope you’re dancing with all the ladies in heaven.
Love Brandon

We have so many memories with Carol & Ken over the past 30+years it’s hard to choose one. Ken was always there to help at the drop of a moments notice (June 8,1997).. We had good times together (New Orleans, cruises, visiting & packing Carols shoes). The best memory is he made our friend Carol happy.
Rest in peace our friend.

So sorry to hear this news! Ken take your rest for now, till we meet again, for our next “debate”! We’ll miss you, Love to you Carol, are hearts and prayers are with you and your family always, from us your Delaware county “family”. I met Ken as a teenager, when he worked with my mother and sister as care providers then later worked with him myself. Ken was kind, humorous, dedicated and hardworking in his years of fighting for the rights of the developmentally disabled people he represented and cared for as their social worker, many times going above and beyond with his own time and money, to make things right for them, not getting or expecting any acknowledgment. We enjoyed working with him, and were proud to call him our friend. Ken sent our children on their honeymoons, making them very special with “extras” he would throw in.. because he cared. Making those times memorable for the rest of their lives! He will be remembered always and loved for the”many” generational years he has been an honorary part of our family! RIP dear friend ❤️ John 5:28,29 Love always , John & Lynette Morse and family

Charles and I were so sad to hear of my cousin Kenny‘s passing. Kenny was always the one at our grandmother‘s Sunday dinners who came in with a smile on his face, a glint in, his eyes and stories of his activities. He had so much energy for whatever he was involved with. For instance, as a teenager, he started long-distance bike riding all over the country. He was never one to do something halfheartedly and always excelled due to his diligence and hard work. He loved family and was an excellent judge of character, as can be seen by the long time relationship with Carol. He talked about how lucky he was to have her all the time. Although we didn’t see much of each other as adults due to living far apart and life in general, we were always able to pick up where we left off and talk about the good times at grandma‘s house. Kenny was great and he’ll be sorely missed by all and definitely by the Riordans.

I met Sir Ken and Ms. Carol during their Grand Voyage South America cruise several years ago before pandemic. It was a meaningful encounter with the couple and I will always be grateful for all the encouragement and words of wisdom you have imparted in my life. It inspires me to keep pursuing my dream just like how you started humble beginnings in your cruise and travel business way back then. You will be greatly remembered Sir Ken! Sending my condolences to Maam Carol and to the whole family. You have lived a wonderful life sir Ken. No more pain and you are now with our Lord.

I have to tell this story. Maybe you’ve heard it before:
Back in January 2018, somewhere between Los Angeles and Auckland, we met Ken and Carol. We were on a world cruise from Florida to London. One evening while waiting for the show to start in the theater we heard the obvious accents of New Yorkers behind us. We struck up a conversation with the usual “Where are you from?” “New York.” “Where?” Hudson Valley.” “Where?” And so on…until Ken and Bob realized they went to college together, worked together, and played golf together back in 1969-70.
What are the odds?
Ever since then Ken and Carol have been in our lives. And, how thankful were are for that serendipity.

Ken and Carol - Carol and Ken - a most beautiful couple who truly completed and balanced each other ! Ken's and Carol's humor and adventurous spirits - full of curiosity about countries all over the globe - enhanced their worldwide travels of discovery and fun. My husband Robert and I had the joy of showing them around here, in our hometown of Paris, France, when their boat docked nearby. Carol's devoted loving attentiveness to Ken's health made it possible for them to visit the Latin Quarter - and to continue to take many more trips all over the world. Ken and Carol had an immense interest in and curiosity about French history, culture and cuisine. Ken had a joie de vivre and gentle humor that put everyone at ease - it was truly a great joy to know Ken.

I first met Ken and Carol in 1997 when they arranged my first cruise and then attended a pre-cruise party to distribute the tickets. Since then we have been friends and I could always count on both of them to get me where I was going. Ken always made a follow-up phone call to welcome us back and make sure all went well. He loved to talk, especially about traveling. Over the past couple of years, I talked with him less, but Carol was always there for us. They were a great couple and I envied the relationship they had. Ken will be missed by so many, but is at peace now. Rest in the arms of the Angels, Ken. Love and hugs to Carol and all the family.

I was blessed to have gotten to know Ken through my friendship with Ariel. He and Carol always made me feel as if I was part of the family when with them. When I was younger he always said there was no way I could be that nice and polite, and I had to be up to something - and this is how I became known as Eddie Haskell to him all the way up through adulthood. Ken had a way of making me laugh about just about anything, especially a particular HBO special that brought us all to tears. As funny and witty as Ken was, he was also so smart and articulate. He loved talking shop with me once I finished my master's degree in school counseling when I'd stop by to visit Ari and Kam. He'd share his experiences as a social worker and listen intently to my crazy stories. I'm so grateful for all my memories of him. Sending all of my love and prayers for the whole family as you navigate this difficult time.
Love Always,
Krista aka "Eddie"

I didn’t meet Ken until I was in my twenties, but as soon as I met him I knew he loved my mom dearly. He treated her with respect and worshiped the ground she walked on. He was always very warm and loving towards my family and I. He had a great sense of humor. One of his great loves was traveling and I’m happy that he was able to travel most of the world and enjoyed it with my mom. We will all miss him, but he’s now at peace. We love you all Grandpa Ken from Jennifer, Danny Kailey and Brandon. You will always be my Buddha Magoo!

I met Ken on the job. He was fierce in his beliefs, fair minded, a champion of the underdog. Ken was my mentor. He taught me about fighting for people, seeing things through their eyes. Ken was quick witted and smart. I can’t give a particular story as my memory isn’t good. You’ll have to look for others for that. But I know my impressions of Ken. Ken was a good good man! He could be a pain-in-the-ass for his supervisors at times because he stood up for what’s right and for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves. He was a pleasure to be around.
Ken and Carol were made for each other. Their pure enjoyment of each other was obvious to anyone with a pulse. Carol I know those memories will help you and your family through your grief.
I am richer because Ken was my friend.

Another favorite photo from recent times. We spent a lot of time with my parents and my husband and dad became really really close. They have a lot of similarities and it just makes us all laugh because my mom and I are so similar. Ken would tell Ben about my childhood and all the years in between good bad and ugly and how I was just a one of a kind daughter and he was so happy that I finally found the best guy. He was so fond of Ben and would say where have you been all my life because they just understood each other and he said he had never seen me so happy. Ariel Ruiz
