Obituary of Georgianna Tonelli

Georgianna Marie Tonelli, 75, of Davie, FL, passed away on May 6, 2024, in Hollywood, FL. Georgianna was born in Boston, MA, to Josephine LoConte and Luigi DeCusio on June 20, 1948. She graduated from East Boston High School. In 2001, she married Neil "Nello" Tonelli in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She dedicated over 20 years of her career to the US Postal Service, serving as a supervisor with diligence and pride. Additionally, she shared her talents and warmth at the Hair Club in Albany, NY, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL, forming cherished bonds with clients and colleagues alike. Beyond her professional life, Georgianna had an extraordinary talent for cooking, delighting her loved ones with her Sunday dinners and culinary creations. She possessed an adventurous spirit, finding joy in traveling, especially to the beach and amusement parks, where the thrill of the rides captivated her. Her luck at the casino was legendary, but her greatest fortune lay in the love and laughter she shared with her family and friends. Georgianna's creativity extended beyond the kitchen; she was a skilled crocheter, weaving warmth and love into every blanket she crafted. Christmas and Halloween held special places in her heart, as she poured her creativity into making each holiday magical for her children and grandsons. For 13 years, she resided in Clifton Park, NY, where she dedicated herself to her grandsons, fostering a bond that would last a lifetime. Georgianna is preceded in death by her beloved husband Nello, her parents Josephine and Luigi, and her sister Connie DeCusio. She is survived by her daughters, Nicole Chiarella of Weston, FL, and Charmaine Catania and her spouse John of Peabody, MA. Georgianna adored her five grandsons, Tony, Joseph, John, Anthony, and Dominic, and took immense pride in their accomplishments. She is also survived by her nephew Tom Ellis, his wife Adrianna, and their daughter Lia, who she considered her own children and grandchild, respectively. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4-6 pm on May 9th at the Fred Hunter Funeral Home on S. University Drive in Davie, FL. Following this event, a Celebration of Life Gathering will also be held at the Catricala Funeral Home 1597 Route 9 Clifton Park NY, on Thursday May 16,2024 from 10-12 am followed by a burial at Saratoga National Cemetery, where Georgianna will be laid to rest beside her late husband and soul mate, Nello.
