Dear Barbara, although it was decades ago, I remember the day and you as though it was yesterday. Your Mom asked to meet with your junior high school teachers to seek answers.It had nothing to do with your grades, as you were so talented. It was about your early steps of growing up, not sharing things together as you had in elementary school. Your Mom wanted to offer her ear and heart for all of your challenges, and you were just not sharing.
She teared up as she spoke to us. I remember telling her that you would be fine, that growing up and keeping things to yourself were normal, that the day would come when Mom and daughter would be one again. I hope you and she had many of those times which you can now remember as she joins the angels and the saints, and looks forward to welcoming you to a new life of peace.
