Clifton Park, NY - Adele Bredderman Cartledge, age 80, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
Born in Albany, NY, Adele was the daughter of the late William H. and Mary E. (Lucchi) Bredderman of Greenville, NY. She graduated from Greenville Central High School, earned an AAS degree from Ulster County Community College and also studied at the State University of New York at Potsdam.
Adele worked at the National Commercial Bank and Trust Co. (now KeyBank) and spent 28 years with Hospital Underwriters Mutual Insurance Company (now merged with MLMIC) in the Risk Management Department. She enjoyed her work with medical facilities, doctors, and her many coworkers.
Adele is survived by her six siblings: Sonia (Larry) Kolota, Rudy (Helen) Bredderman, Paul Bredderman, Ted (Ginny) Bredderman, Joan Welch, and Bill Bredderman; her two daughters: Tracy (Michael) DeMarco and Christine (John) Freer and adored grandchildren Caden DeMarco and Tracy Jean Freer.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her siblings, daughters, and their families at family gatherings and holidays. She cherished moments with her grandchildren, who always made her laugh and were the lights of her life. Adele especially enjoyed summer vacations in Maine with her daughter and her family. She loved gardening, reading, and enjoying a good latte. She always said she enjoyed her comfortable life doing exactly what she wanted to do.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Edward's the Confessor Church in Clifton Park, entombment to follow at Most Holy Redeemer in Niskayuna.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association by going to www.heart.org.
