Richard Riccardi, age 74, of Ballston Lake, passed away on March 11, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Utica, he was the son of the late Blanche and Joseph Riccardi.
He graduated from Proctor High in Utica in 1958 and earned his Associates degree from Mohawk Valley Community College. He enlisted in the Army in 1961 and served until 1964, earning the rank of Specialist 5. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Empire State College in Saratoga. He worked as a district controller for Burroughs Corporation, which then became Unisys in Albany. He later worked for Super Steel and Applied Robotics.
He loved his wife and children, adored his grandchildren, and dedicated his life to all of them. He was also a lifelong Yankees and Syracuse University sports fan.
He is survived by Olympia, his devoted wife of 48 years, his daughters, Karen (T.J.) Keegan and Michelle Lamoreaux, and sons, Mark (Jennifer) and Steven (Emma) Riccardi. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Marshall, Anna, Jack, Ryan, Madeleine, Lauren and Francesca.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at Catricala Funeral Home Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at Corpus Christi at 10 am. Burial will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery at 12 pm.
