Maud Miller Obituary

Halfmoon, NY - Maud A. Miller, 85, of Halfmoon, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Miller was born in Halfmoon, she was the daughter of the late Francis E. Hatlee and Maude Martin Hatlee. She was a lifelong member of the Halfmoon community and excelled as a student in the Clifton Park and Shenendehowa school systems. Mrs. Miller worked for Mobil Oil Company in Albany and Clifton Park Printing in Clifton Park. She took great pride and joy in being a homemaker and raising her family.


Mrs. Miller was an active member of the American Society of Dowsers (Mohawk Hudson Chapter) and used her amazing skills attained from her father and that of which she personally accrued over the years to help numerous people. She loved life and embraced all it had to offer. As a daughter, wife, mother, homemaker, student, teacher, friend, musician, singer, and dowser, Mrs. Miller approached everything with love, dedication, grace, kindness, compassion, and a sense of adventure. She will be remembered for her quick wit and intelligent and dry sense of humor, and her love of storytelling and jokes.


She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, camping, fishing, exploring nature, playing sports of all kinds, playing her instruments, and singing. Mrs. Miller is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Paul H. Miller of Halfmoon; her loving and dedicated children, Eric P. Miller of Rexford; Lori A. Miller and Catherine A. Porrier of Rexford; one sister, Mr Wayne (Carol) Lillibridge of Clifton Park; three sister-in-law's, Linda Ward of Scotia, Heather Hatlee of Bradenton, FL, and Janet Hatlee of Middletown, PA; and many nieces and nephews.


She was predeceased by her four brothers, James (Louise) Hatlee of Clifton Park, Thomas Hatlee of Tallahassee, FL, Floyd Hatlee of Bradenton FL, and Edwin (Fay) Hatlee of Halfmoon; one sister Mrs. John (Myrtle) Marrow of Ypsilanti,MI. Mrs. Miller's legacy is one of love, devotion to family and friends, compassion, caring, strength, connection to Mother Earth, music, and generosity. Her positive presence will forever be cherished by her family, relatives, friends, caregivers, and all those she has touched on her beautiful journey here on Earth.


Calling hours will be held on Tuesday September 24, 2024, from 4-7pm at the Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park.

A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday September 25, 2024 at 11:00am. Burial will take place in Memory's Garden Cemetery in Colonie.
