Obituary of Frederick Bloom

Clifton Park – Frederick Bloom passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024 with his family by his side. Frederick is survived by his children Molly and Christopher, son-in-law Keith, and his grandchildren, Eric and Katelyn. Following his service in the United States Army and a career as an Electrical Engineer for General Electric, Fred enjoyed spending time outdoors, enjoying many of the recreational activities available in New York. He loved hiking the Adirondacks as a 46er, the Northeast 115, and the Catskill 3500. He also had a passion for kayaking and sailing. He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed honing his craft. Fred was also a devoted long-time member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and served as a member of the choir. Calling hours will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 pm in the Catricala Funeral Home Inc, 1597 Route 9 Clifton Park NY 12065. A funeral service will be held Monday morning at 10:30 am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4 Northcrest Dr. in Clifton Park NY. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation in his name.
