Obituary of Richard V. Dalpe

Waterford – Richard V. Dalpe, 52, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Saratoga Hospital following an illness.
Rich was born in Albany, NY, the son of John Somers and Eleanor Dalpe-Somers, and was predeceased by his father, John Somers, his grandparents, Emile and Sarah Dalpe, and Matilda and Wellington Somers, and his uncles, David Dalpe and Ernest Perry.
Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and following his enlistment he earned his Associates Degree in Computer Science, which he used in his career at Maximus, Inc as a computer programmer.
When Rich wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He loved Wrestlemania and the WWE, the New York Yankees Baseball, Rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers Football team, bowling, and sports in general. He enjoyed playing cards, and watching movies, especially marvel films and Japanese sci-fi. Rich made it a point to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown every year, and attended many concerts, especially if it involved Classic Rock. Rich was an avid reader and frequented the local library. He also enjoyed going for walks, and all kinds of animals. He especially loved his nieces.
Richard is survived by his Mother: Eleanor; his sister: Kara Grennon, his two nieces: Sage and Zoe, and his aunts and uncles: Debby Perry, Dennis (Betsy) Dalpe, and Daniel (Penny) Dalpe. He is also survived by his best friends: Vahan Vrijian, Jr., Michael Eusepi, Tom Daniels, John Hackert, and Bill Carter.
A period of visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. On Thursday, October 31, 2024, the funeral procession will be leaving Catricala Funeral Home promptly at 10:30 am to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Church Hill Road, Crescent, NY 12188 for a Funeral Mass at 11:00 followed by a burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 40 Middletown Road, Waterford, NY.
Donations in Rich's memory may be made to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020
