Halfmoon – Lawrence G. "Larry" Caisse, 90, passed away at his home in Halfmoon, New York on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1934 in Cohoes, NY, Larry was a son of the late Arthur and Helen (Izzo) Doherty. He was predeceased by his devoted wife of 46 years, Joyce Ann (Tofte) Caisse, his brother, Joseph Caisse, and a son-in-law, Michael Patrie. After graduating High School, Larry enlisted in the United States Navy, and served dutifully aboard the USS Moale from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1957. Following his tour of duty, he earned his associates degree from HVCC, and was proud to be a member of Hudson Valley's first ever commencement ceremony with the Class of 1960. Following his education, Larry drove bus for several transportation companies, to include Citibus and United Traction, before settling into a career with Fleet Bank of Albany, working as Senior Tech Support. Following his retirement, Larry took up driving bus again, this time for the Shenendehowa School District, an occupation he enjoyed for a further 20 years. When Larry wasn't working, he enjoyed playing his ukelele, and doing a daily crossword puzzle and Sudoku. Larry was known for taking pride in his meticulous and well-tended home and grounds. He was known to be quite handy, and his family relied on him to be the man who could fix anything. He enjoyed being a Miss Shen Softball coach for many years, a hobby he shared with his wife, Joyce. Above all else, Larry loved his family, and devoted himself to them. Larry is survived by his 4 daughters: Deb Monaco (Nick), Dawn Patrie, Tina Richards, and Jillian DeLuke (Devon); his 8 grandchildren: Juli, Michael, Joey, Lucas, Anthony, Josie, Brieana, and Nick; and a son-in-law: Joe Richards.
