Halfmoon – Elfriede G. Kuehn, 89, passed away on December 19, 2024 at her home in Halfmoon, NY.

Elfriede was born in 1935 in Reutlingen, Germany, a child of the late Pius and Gertrude (Widmeyer) Roher.

She immigrated to the United States in 1955 and worked as a meat packer at Merkel's in Jamaica, New York. While working at Merkel's she met the love of her life, Larry, in 1958, and they were married the same year. After Merkel's, she worked for a while at LaGuardia Airport.

When not at work, Elfriede enjoyed spending time with her husband and shopping.

Elfriede is survived by her beloved husband: Lawrence "Larry" Kuehn; three brothers: Walter Roher, Peter Widmeyer, and Helmuth Widmeyer; and several close neighbors.

Services for Elfriede will be held privately at a later date.
