Alice W. Harrell-Rapp, age 93 of Rexford passed away on Thursday April 2, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy. She was born on August 10, 1921 in Valdosta, GA, the daughter of the late Joe and Mary Alice Wisenbaker. She was predeceased by her first husband of 54 years, L. Lamar Harrell Jr. and her sister Ora Kate Dudley.
Known as a true Southern lady, Alice took care of her family all of her life. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed doing needlework and playing bridge. Most of all, family was her number one priority. Alice was an active volunteer with the AAUW and was a docent at Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, DE.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert A. Rapp, daughters Mary Alice Carter and her husband Joseph, and Elizabeth Johnson and her husband Cary, and son Leon L. Harrell III and his wife Heidi. She is also survived by grandchildren John and his wife Stephanie, Elizabeth and her husband Richard, Timothy and his wife Elizabeth, Justine and her husband Derek, Jordan, Trisha, and April, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as Robert’s loving family.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
