Obituary of John J. Mahar

John Jay Mahar, 64, of New York, NY passed away on June 29, 2018 in Manhattan NY after a long, courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Troy, NY to John D. and Irma Mahar on May 25, 1954. He is preceded in death by his father, John D Mahar.

John went to high school at Shenendehowa High School and graduated in 1972. He went on to earn a BA degree from Union College and an MBA from The University of Rochester. John began his 30+ year career as an analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York then worked for Schroder Capital Management International as a first Vice President. Thereafter, John was an independent consultant with Gladstone Resources/Capital. He was the Executive Vice President at Teton Petroleum Corporation and more recently the Founder and Managing Director of UKB Capital LLC.

John is survived by his mother, Irma Mahar of Saratoga Springs, NY, as well as his brother James E Mahar (Diane Mahar) of Ballston Spa, NY.

Burial was held at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, NY.
