Dear Ruth and family,
I am incredibly heartbroken. I can’t believe he left us so prematurely. Ike’s love for Ruthie and the girls was proudly on display at all times. Ike was always ready to help me and anyone who needed it.I’ll miss playing disc golf with him and watching him fix everything thrown his way. Now Ike and Pops are together. Ricky,
You left us far too soon, but I know you are in a good place next to the father you loved so much and the dogs (especially Sweets) you loved so dearly. There are so many things I will remember about you. (I want to say that I will miss them about you also, but I won’t, because your memory will truly live on forever – you are present whenever we walk into that beautiful home and place of love and welcoming you created with Ruth.) Thank you for the honesty we shared in all the conversations we had with each other. We could get into terrible arguments with one another or see each other’s point of view perfectly – no matter which of those extremes, we at least knew where the other stood and who the other person was, genuinely.
Three things that will always stand out to me about you: 1) how much you truly loved Ruth – this was evident in the glow in your eyes whenever you told stories of how you met, the times you shared, and also in the thousand little things you did around the house to make her happy (I will always think about you and her whenever I hear the song “High on You”), 2) how much you gave of yourself to raise Rachel and Francesca – spending countless hours driving them to recitals, performances, etc. to allow them to experience everything they wanted. You were the invisible hand behind three very successful women – that will not go unrecognized, 3) how you would come to our aid to help with a project, lend a tool, or watch Isabella, at a moment’s notice. You were/are selfless beyond recognition, and I want to thank you for that.
In learning about your life, I know that you did not always feel heard. But, you have left an indelible impression, and you will never be forgotten.

Dann and I were so sad to hear of Ricky’s passing. He was such a kind man. I remember when you watched Pumpkin for us the first few years we had her. I specifically remember coming home, over to your house and seeing Pumpkin sitting with Ricky watching TV! She loved him.....and your entire family! He will be missed.
