Please share a memory of Geraldine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Geraldine “Jill” Orr Eggleston, 68, died peacefully in her sleep at home in Clifton Park, NY, on December 28, 2020. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Alan P. Eggleston, her two daughters, Allison C. Bukhtulov (39) of New York, NY and Melissa A. Karpowicz (37) of Dix Hills, NY, her son-in-law, Vitaliy Bukhtulov (39), and her sister, Elizabeth Orr of Denver, CO. Jill had three grandsons, Adam P. Karpowicz (10), Andrew J. Karpowicz (7) and Aleksei P. Bukhtulov (1 month), as well as several nieces and nephews. Jill had a lifelong love for learning, graduating from Lewiston-Porter High School (1970), before continuing her education at Dayton University and the University of Miami where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology (1974). She also briefly attended the University at Buffalo School of Law. Growing up in Lewiston, NY, Jill was an equestrian and avid swimmer, having attained her senior life saving certification. Throughout her life, Jill loved the arts and was happiest when nurturing her creative side. She taught dance, was an accomplished seamstress, sang, played the piano and guitar, and later in life developed a keen interest in drawing, painting and jewelry making. Jill was especially proud of the retirement home she and Alan built, which Jill designed, acted as general contractor for and decorated. She would later enjoy tending to the gardens surrounding the property. Mostly, Jill loved her family and closest friends and was always there to support them. She will be deeply missed by all.
