Ronald J. Sitko, age 69 of Halfmoon passed away at home on Monday, April 5, 2021. Born on September 10, 1951, in Pottstown, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Ann Sitko. He was predeceased by his son Matthew Sitko. Ron spent his career as an electrical engineer, and retired from General Electric in Waterford. He owned a, Edison sound machine and phonograph repair business for over 40 years. He enjoyed playing ice hockey and taking trips to Key West with his wife. He volunteered his time as a handyman at Mary’s Haven in Saratoga and helped with the gardens at St. Mary’s Church in Crescent. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Sitko, brother Gerald (Ruthann) Sitko, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral Mass on Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 86 Church Hill Rd., in Crescent. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204, the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Rd., Ballston Spa, NY 12020, or to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Schenectady, NY 12302.
