I met Sal while working at the Insurance Department. As the Auditor I found Sal to be smart, respected and knowledgeable, not only about Insurance, but also on a number of subjects. I met Denise when I moved upstate and formed a friendship with both Denise and Sal. The last time I saw Sal was at his house a short time ago for Thanksgiving. His passing was so sad. May he rest in peace.

I was fortunate to be one of the guys Sal stayed with at the Brienzo camp during hunting season. Being a Brooklyn guy myself, Sal an I would talk for hours about Brooklyn and his favorite topic baseball. Oftentimes the others in the camp would have to shut us down in order to get some sleep. The only thing bigger than Sal's kindness and generosity was his appetite. Gonna miss the donuts Sal would bring up every year. I feel blessed that I was presented the opportunity to meet Sal, he was one of a kind. R.I.P my friend. -- John Pribetich

Denise and family, Sal was someone who supported me throughout my career at The Insurance Department /Department of Financial Services. All of my promotions were supported by Sal. Under his leadership we accomplished many initiatives together. He respected my opinion and gave me several opportunities to succeed. He was my mentor and my friend. I will miss his words of wisdom and his friendship. I am praying for your family.

Sal you were always there when I needed someone to talk to, you never judged me just listened and offered your thoughts and advice. Yes we were brothers but more so you were my friend. I always looked up to you my big brother. I will miss you and look forward to playing ball again with you at JHS 117 in Brooklyn. Rest in peace. Love you.

I had the pleasure of working with Sal from 1999-2004. I worked in the public affairs area - Sal always took the time to explain what I needed to understand and/or helped me with my issue. He was extremely helpful and went above and beyond when a family member was struggling with an insurance issue- but Sal did that for everyone. I felt like NYers were in great hands because of what Sal would do to help. We worked hard through 9/11. He is someone I cherish from my time at the Department. Rest in peace Sal- you were one of a kind.

Sal was such a special man. He was our neighbor on Whispering Hills in Clifton Park for many years. He was a true gentleman and always ready to lend a helping hand.
When it snowed he would be out there early plowing his driveway and would plow another in need. He will surely be missed. Love you, Donna and George

I worked at the New York State Insurance Department as an attorney in the Office of General, beginning in 1979. My work responsibilities included the bringing of administrative charges against licensees who had violated the Insurance Law. I had a lot of interactions with Sal as his unit of the Department investigated the underlying complaints brought against licensees by consumers and insurers. Sal was always a pleasure to work with as he was knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge with coworkers. He did not take himself too seriously, he always saw the bright side of things and almost always had a smile on his face.
Sal was a very good person, he will be missed.
