Eleanor "Ellie" May (Marsh) Emerson, age 88, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday January 24, 2024 at the Schuyler Ridge Home after a long illness. Born in Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada to the late Lawrence and Clara "Kelly" (Shiels) Marsh. She was predeceased by her brother Ronald Marsh. She graduated from Selkirk High School in 1953, moved to Montreal, QC and eventually settled in Clifton Park, NY. She became a citizen of the USA while raising her three children. She graduated from Hudson Valley Community College and became a Respiratory Therapist, working in many of the local hospitals in the Capital Region of NY. She continued her academic studies and graduated from the University at Albany with a Master's in Social Work. Ellie LOVED to dance. She won countless international ballroom dance awards from Europe to Central America and all across the USA and Canada. Ellie enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Cedarvale, North Hero, VT. She was a member of The King of Kings Lutheran Church, Clifton Park, NY. She will be missed by the three children she raised Dr. Drew (Jenny) Emerson; Sharon Emerson; R. "Jay" (Penny) Emerson and her grandchildren Tyler, Sydney, Lindsey, Abigail, Violet, and Evan. A special mention to her son Bryan (Joan) Trussler of Gatineau, QC, Canada who she came to love and care deeply for. Thank you to Schuyler Ridge Residential Healthcare and Hospice for your care of our mother. Family and friends are invited and may call at the Catricala Funeral Home 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY on Saturday February 3, 2024 from 1-3pm. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home at 3pm.
